What frustrated me about Sparano and unfortunately Philbin as well is they hold the "playmakers" back because of they are weak at doing something fundamental. I'm not advocating undisciplined players but when I see every Miller touch seemingly go for 7 yards with quickness and power it pisses me off that he isn't brought in enough because "isn't a great blocker". If the zone blocking scheme is based on quick cuts and upfield movement why are we messing around with disco dance Bush? He'd rather do that damn wait behind the guard thing and reverse field for a four yard loss than take three yards. Idc if teams can key off what we are doing because of personnel.. ultimately matchups win the fight. If Thomas is the best blocker bring him in for the pass plays to block/be security... teams will still have to respect his ability as a skill player. I feel like this is an issue with Matthews too. I feel like there is something like "he doesn't block downfield well enough" that is holding him back from being in the lineup where he can be a valuable part of the pass offense. Train these players on fundamentals but ultimately let them succeed at what they do best. I suppose this is frustration from watching other teams today... little bit of a rant.
