Well we'll find out soon against the 49ers but I have a feeling, Long is going to get called for a few holding penalties.

If Wake went against Gabe Carini the whole game one on one and Cambell the Qb he would have 8 sacks .. Not to takeaway from Smith he is a beast but come on if u watched that the game it was a joke that dude should not be playing right tackle and Cambell holds the ball forever.. I with Wake they should all be watching film on him.
Wake and Odrick should be our Smiths. Unfortunately they can't decide whether they're trying to turn Jared into a nose tackle or an edge rusher.
As someone already mentioned, Carini freaking sucked bad last night. The guy was often blocking air and almost falling on his face. He was also getting bullrushed into the QB, which should be unacceptable for any lineman.

Probably could have 14 by now

According to PFF, Wake still leads the league with 55 total QB disruptions. While it would be great to get that number (and his sack number) higher, unfortunately you don't get to play against Bobbie Massie or Gabe Carimi every week. Also, he doesn't get much help (whereas Aldon Smith had Justin Smith converging from the other side). Overall, I don't think watching Aldon Smith could really help him much (playing with him could help a lot though

).
Aldon Smith can do that because Justin Smith is a beast on the defensive line, as well. Give Wake some help and away we go.
Aldon Smith is a nice player, make no mistake. And he may very well break the sack record for the first 2 years to start a career. However, as some have stated, a lot of his success can be attributed to his surrounding cast. And a good amount of his sacks have come off ONE move ... the inside twist with Justin Smith.
As for last night's game, he just had a perfect matchup with an inept tackle who was receiving little to no help. Cam Wake enjoyed a similar matchup against Massie and Arizona earlier on the year when he amassed 4.5 sacks.
The big difference many are overlooking is Cam Wake often is double-teamed or chipped by a RB whereas Aldon Smith receives a lot more single coverage due to the fact the Niners have so many more threats surrounding him. If Wake was lining up at DE for the Niners this year, he'd have a few more sacks than he has right now.....
