Brian Harltine (807 yards) and Davone Bess (715 yards) are both in the top 20 for receiving yards. Is Tannehill the reason for their success? The new West Coast offense? It's pretty impressive. My guess would be that the only time we've had to WR's break 1000 yards each would be the Mark brothers.
That'd be correct, the Marks Bros did it in 1984 (Nat Moore had nearly 600 yards receiving that year as well), 1986, and 1991; those two guys are the most underrated receiving tandem in NFL History in my opinion. The next closest tandems to doing it would have been Fryer/Ingram in 1993 and Marshal/Bess in 2010.

I admit we could still use a stud receiver but it'd definitely be ironic, if after all the crap the wr core gets, we actually end up having both go over a 1000, it'd be a pretty sweet accomplishment for the members of the team imo

It's all relative^ - football isn't what it was even 10 years ago - we're probably going to have 10 guys throw for over 4,000 yards this season. Ryan Tannehiill broke Marino's rookie yardage record with 5 games left to play. If a quarterback isn't throwing AT LEAST 200 yards/game you'd say he's having a bad day. The league is all about passing now. And a team like ours, that is SO THIN with weapons, we are going to focus on using the few that we have even more.

How many yards do our TE's have? Or our RB's? Or the rest of our receivers combined? Our passing offense is literally just those 2 guys consistently and that is it.

edit: Just to clarify, Hartline and Bess are fantastic #2 and #3 receivers respectively, but the statistics need to be put into the context of how the game is played today.

For the last time .... Marino played a whopping 9 whole games his rookie year. I'd hope like effin' crazy our QB could eclipse the yardage total.

He broke it in his 11th game.

    So it's relative.

Hartline is on pace for 1174 and Bess is on pace for 1040. That would be nice.

And everyone was wondering who would pick up those yards that BM had last year.
That has to be the worst post ever.

Name 1 time Bess had double coverage. Name 1 time bess scored more than 3 TDs. Name 1 time bess caught a deep ball. Name 1 time Bess had a game changing play. Name 1 time bess caught a pass over 40 yards.

    End of story.

PS: we dont have a #3 WR or else those numbers would be sliced in half.

The whole last drive against the seahawks he made a game changing play.

He also is bracketed and double covered alot more than Hartline, hell Hartline is never double covered.
