I haven't spent much time looking at running backs in this draft, but by all accounts it seems like a really down year at that position. I think Miami could add a free agent to compete with Miller and Thomas. That's a viable option I would think.
could always draft mike james in the mid rounds, and have smash and dash back together with DT... that's a backfield I wouldn't get too upset about.

I'm going to suggest a different double up.. one of a geographic varierty...

Jordan from Oregon in the 1st & Wheaton (WR Ore St) w/ Miami's 2b.

I like that a lot. Jordan looks like a star in the making to me and Wheaton would be that speed guy the team needs.

As far as DE goes, Dion Jordan reminds me of JPP but w/ more significant playing time in college against better competition.

Here is a thought for TE... Eifert in the 1st & Dion Sims (Mich State) in the 3rd or 4th. I'll give Kyle Miller the benefit of the doubt. Mastrud? really?

I wouldn't mind seeing a trade down to grab Eifert while picking up a 3rd in the process.

Can anyone care to share how Eifert might compare to Coby Fleener who came out last year?

I think Fleener has more speed. Eifert might be a little better at going up to get the ball, but I think they are similar in that regard. Similar height and hands. I think Eifert is the better blocker. Fleener ended up running what about a 4.5 at the combine. I think Eifert might be more like 4.65, but that is a guess.

I like Eifert...but id be looking at Keller and Cook in FA as well. Also in the draft...Im pretty high on Fauria. I don't think he is as polished as Eifert...but the guy is a absolute monster in the redone and we need help there BAD.

In terms of doubling up; I'm a sucker for corners, so if we're picking in the 5-10 range (possible), I'd like to see Milliner as a possible pick. Then maybe follow him up with Darius Slay from Miss St in the 4th (hoping to see him in person in the Gator Bowl, so we'll see how I feel about him after that). Then at TE, I definitely would like to see an early 2nd round pick on Fauria or another comparable TE. Maybe a later pick on Lutzenkirchen or possibly Mychal Rivera out of Tennessee (although I don't know if he's too Charles Clay-ish). We'll see, just my preliminary musings.

If Eifert is gone, who would be your preference at TE, Fauria or Ertz?

I've see Ertz projected in the second and Fauria as low as the 4th or 5th? Does that seem right?

We def need a TE, either draft in round 2-3 (unless we can pull a trade down in 1st for eifert), or the draft.
Don't think we need to jump the gun and double
Up at the TE position. We need to give Egnew another year, but a starter who can bust the seam and/or one with height to catch the rock in the redone/endzone is crucial.
