Should the Miami Dolphins cut Karlos Dansby?

Dansby is on pace for a 129-tackle season despite playing most of it with a torn biceps.
He has been one of the league's most proficient linebackers in pass coverage as well. Dansby has been thrown at 62 times and allowed only 41 completions, giving him the seventh best percentage caught-rate among inside linebackers (per Pro Football Focus).
Quarterbacks also have a pedestrian 88.2 rating when throwing into his coverage.
Despite his performance, there are a number of factors that make Dansby an appealing candidate for the chopping block following this season.
First, there's his contract, which is the most important factor in the equation. He's due approximately $15 million over the next two years, which is serious money for anybody, let alone a 31-year-old linebacker who has underachieved and has to undergo biceps surgery after this season

    Cutting Dansby would create this.

Dansby is just another example of NFL players who come into the league, play at a high level in the rookie contract, then get to the big payday and the level of performance drops substantially. This is rampant throughout the league. All the more reason you must do better in the draft.

Let him walk. The money he will want will not justify the results he is putting up. Pedestrian tackles, torn bicep, and way too few impact plays.

-_________- "we can't cover tight ends they say" and we stop the run consistently. He doesn't make a lot of dominate game changing plays but far from a liability even with the torn muscle. Yeah he is over paid...but what or who are you gonna replace him with?? Point is sometimes you have to over pay for average or slightly above average players or if you don't your roster will be even worse that it is

If he was fat still, maybe. He's a completely different player under 240 lbs.

After havin someone like Crowder, Dansby is a smart and good linebacker. Miami over paid him but he would of got paid big somewhere just not as big as Miami decided. Take him off this defense and we are alot worst. Great against the run and truly better then most against the pass. Upgrade this secondary and get anothere pass rusher , then dansby will really shyne next to Burnett who is decent himself. But like someone said he is here just draft better and then replace him. To cut him for no reason is dum. He has played great this year.
