it got away from us late, we lost multiple DBs and we lost Shonn Greene during that game but we were in it and had the ball w/ a chance to tie/take the lead in the 4th qtr- something NE didn't have a chance to do.

Sorry for the triple post. I'm having internet problems and reloaded too many times.

It doesn't matter what the score was after the first 3 quarters. The Jets were down 2 scores from the 8:57 mark in the 4th on to the end of the game. They never had chance to even cut it to a 1 score game. NE did and attemted an onside kick with around 2:00 left. You just look silly when you describe that 28-21 win as a whooping, and then say the Jets 30-17 loss was a close game.

again, it got away from us late but we had chances in the 4th, NE did not.

The Jets whooped the Pats in the '10 div rd, a game they controlled from the 2nd qtr on, a game where NE never had the ball w/ a chance to tie or take the lead in the 2nd half. Don't let final scores fool you, we had q 2 TD lead when NE scored a garbage time TD, we were down 3 in the 4th at Indy. we were near midfield in the 4th down only 3.

You keep repeating the same thing without answering my question. Who cares what the score is after 3 quarters? It is all meaningless if you blow it in the 4th. NE scored the garbage time TD after the Jets scored the garbage time TD after the onside kick attempt. The score was 21 to 14 when the onside kick took place with around 2:00 left in the game. That is not a whooping. NE had the opportunity to tie with an onside kick recovery. The Jets never even had the chance to cut it to a 1 score game from 8:57 on. Only you can describe that as a close game while describing the Jets win as a whooping.

I keep repeating it b/c you keep ignoring reality. At no point did NE ever have a chance to tie or take the lead in the 2nd half of our game. We held the lead in the 3rd and had a chance to tie or take the lead at Indy in the 4th. it doesn't matter that they pulled away late, it was a close game until the final few minutes.

That is the only time that matters. If a team gets blown out in the last 8:00 minutes of a game and losses by 30 points, it is not a close game.

It was a 2 score game from 8:57 on. That is about 6:00 into the 4th quarter when they had no chance. Reality is NE cut it to a one score game and had a chance with an onside kick with 2:00 left. The Jets couldn't even cut it to a 1 score game from 8:57 on. The only one ignoring reality is you.

If you have to rely on onside kicks(NE attempted TWO of them) are you really in it? we controlled the Pats game throughout, the Indy game was more back and forth.

Games have been won after successful onside kick recoveries, so I would say yes, NE was still in it when they attempted the first onside kick with around 2:00 left. The Jets scored a garbage time TD on the Cromartie return of the onside and a run from Greene. The game was pretty much over at that point. NE did score again, but there was only 30 seconds left when they attempted the 2nd one. I am not disputing that the Jets controlled that game for the most part. It was a nice win, but far from a whooping. The Indy game was more back and forth for the first half, but they got shut out in the 2nd half. From 8:57 on, it was a worse loss than NE's. That is why you can't call one a close game and the other a whooping.

The Jets were in control the entire 2nd half, at no point was there any worry NE could take the lead. The only hint of worry came late in the 3rd when NE scored and got the 2 pt conversion to pull w/in 3 but moments later we scored a TD then NE never got closer than a TD again.
