Whether Ireland deserves to keep his job or not will always be a debate, but I think Omar is spot on with this. As Skape said in the other thread, whether or not you like it Ireland seems to have gotten a clean slate this past offseason. The team he is building for Philbin involves different schemes and types of players then it did under Sparano. I am not defending Ireland or saying he should be back, but all signs put to him coming back. I know Ross said he expected playoffs this season but he isn't dumb when he sees a team in major transition with a rookie head coach and rookie starting quarterback. If you are rooting for losses ( you should never root against your team) the final four weeks because you think it will get Ireland fired, don't waste your time. Ireland will most likely be back regardless of the outcome of the final four weeks. Once Philbin was hired, Ireland likely got at least two years to build the new team.
