Nothing tells me the Dolphins have taken a directional turn toward championship contention. It remains to be seen.
I feel the same way, when we had to win big, they played flat. T-Hill's TD/Int ratio certainly leaves much to be desired....

I don't know if I buy we're heading towards dynastic championship contender. But the things I'm positive about begin with Tannehill. He's already better than Henne ever was and certainly has tools which give him a sky high ceiling. I like that Philbin has us as a far better conditioned and disciplined team. I think Reshad's play this year has been inspiring. He might be the playmaker in our secondary that we can build around. Rolling towards another losing season, it's a reach to say we've taken any turns, but there are some things to be positive about.

Until we get a competent GM this team will NEVER compete for titles.... NEVER.

I think CK like Weeden. So did I. Having watched both this season and taking age and upside into account I'm very happy with Tannehill.

That Dolphins 5th Quarter show has noticeably improved this season. The presentation is a tighter and Sam Madison has either taken speech lessons or practiced quite a bit.

Reasons to be optimistic going into 2013:

    1. Head coach will be entering second season with a full year of experience and lesson learning. Hopefully none of the assistants move on for promotions elsewhere so there can be some coaching staff continuity. That would be huge.

    2. Young 1st round talent quarterback entering second season with a full year of experience and lesson learning.

    3. $50+ million in cap space. Yes a lot of that will go into resigning players with expiring contracts, but Miami had been in cap hell for so long that it is nice to finally be out of it. Even after resigning our own, Miami will have the cap room to make a big time free agent acquisition if they want to.

    4. Currently have 10 total draft picks, including 5 in the first three rounds. That is big when it comes to drafting talent or possibly swinging a pick to bring in a veteran.

Miami is closer to its goal of being a true NFL threat than they were at this time last year. So yes, I see improvement and reasons to be optimistic going further and that is with or without Jeff Ireland as the GM. Obviously the Patriots are still the King of the AFC East and probably will remain so for the near future, but I think if there is any team that is the closest to challenging them in the future it is the Miami Dolphins. Not the New York Jets or Buffalo Bills.

Honestly the only way I see Ross replacing Ireland is with Brian Gaine. If he did that, really all he would be doing is sacrificing the name Jeff Ireland to the fan base. Might work.

3 Positives. The Jets and Bills are worse then we are. Brady and the Patriots Dynasty must eventually come to a End. Maybe Next Year? Seem to say that every year Dude.
    Winning again would be nice!
