I believe any man's finest hour - his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle...Victorious

Why didn't we bench our pro bowl candidate punt returner?
Why don't you ask yourself that one more time?
We TRADED away our pro bowl WR just fine...

Philbin gambled on a decision that had a high risk and possibly a high reward and lost; not unlike going for it on 4th down. Thigpen has been returning kick-offs, but when punts were expected to be near the goal-line Bess handled them. I assume this was because Bess has the surer hands. Philbin knows that Bess would have fair-caught the ball with no return, but he probably hoped that by putting in Thigpen he would get a big play. Philbin took a chance that Thigpen would make a play and lost. This was all on Philbin, so why should Thigpen be benched?

No, you're just being annoying for the sake of being annoying....big difference.

-Dan MarinoI just try to be myself, whatever that is. I don't think about how I'll be remembered. I just want to be consistent over a long period of time. That's what the great players do.
get a clue

Here is the answer to your question. Philbin realized he made a mistake for benching Bush and he did not repeat that mistake. People would you quit with the why did Bush get benched and (FILL IN THE BLANK) did not every time someone fumbles the ball. This is about the fifth post about someone fumbling the ball and not getting benched and Bush did.
Uhhhh....bc he came back out and showed he is a true gamer by taking it back like 50+ yards on his next go round. He answered........that's what he should have done and he did.
