Up until this season Tate and Rice have been huge disappointments. I wonder why they have improved. Could it be that their QB is a playmaker unlike ours?
Tate, yes. But Rice??? He was all world when he had Favre throwing to him. His problem has been injuries. And if you look at the numbers, most starting rookie qb's have an average qb rating of 70-75. We have a rookie qb who only started 19 games in college. Whereas the others had significantly more starts and were lucky enough to have some solid weapons on the teams they were drafted on. I would also say that everyone of those teams has better O-lines than what we have. And with the exception of maybe Cleveland, all have better running games. You can bring up Brian Hartline and Bess all you want. Hartline's best season prior to this year was in 2010 when he had 615 receiving yards. Bess's best season was also in 2010 when he had 820 receiving yards. Both of these players are having career years. Don't you think some of that has to do with our qb? The fact of the matter is, we have a ****ty o-line, with WR's that can't get any separation. It's extremely difficult to make plays when you are always throwing threw very tight windows. Every other rookie qb has wr's that can get open consistently.

Maybe it was Rice being injured for basically all of last year. And Tate finally learning the offense? Just a though.
