27 dead, including 18 kids, in CT elementary school shooting

Just heard on the radio that the shooter's mother was a teacher at the school, and she was found dead in her home. Looks like the shooter was 20 years old, killed his mom, then shot up the school she taught at. I'm not sure my faith in humanity could get any lower...

Humanity didnt do this man....a broken man did. Not every person is a monster, and i know you know that. Bad people do bad things, but you cant let that stop you from doing whats right and being that shining light on a hill for others.

its settled in with me now, i guess im a fast learner. in all honesty, this is the same bs i hear after everyone of these shootings. "nows not the time", "guns dont kill people, people kill people", when is the time to have a serious discussion?

No doubt. I'm certainly not throwing in the towel or anything like that. But it's difficult to be optimistic about our species when you have things like this, the Israel/Palestine cluster

All people care about is imposing their views on others, getting their way, and making sure they have everything and no one else has anything...

How about we let the tragedy of this settle in before we go all knee jerk gun control? It's disrespectful to the ones lost and the debate will go nowhere as long as passions are inflamed.
And who said anything about 100 round assault rifles? The only report of a weapon i have seen said that one of the guns was a .223, but didn't specify if it was a singgle shot or semi-automatic.
Let's calm down and get all the facts before we try and take everyones multi shot weapons away.

Oh yeah, and say a prayer for all the kids and their families....especially the one of the 20 yr old guy that did this

s to get their hands on guns. What's disrespectful to the loved ones is that we don't address it and instead allow their kids to continue to be shot and killed.

i have to say i have lost alot of faith in humanity. my wife and i went to see a movie a few weeks ago and i was looking around at the exits. for the first time in my life i have thought about where i will send my kids to school when they get of age. i am seriously debating home schooling. maybe i am just getting old, but i never used to think this way before.

dont get me wrong, i dont wake up paranoid or anything, i just think the world in general is decaying.
