Worst first round pick EVER. My buddy and I were watching that draft and when Milner was picked we both were like, "who????"

Pat white worst seconnd round pick ever. After one year out of NFL
I see a pattern developing here. Maybe Michael Egnew will be the worst third round pick ever

Really, no one here has ever heard of a high draft pick not seeing the field year one? Stop acting like its the end of th world and a draft altering pick by Ireland. He ****ing nailed this draft and it's way, way to ****ing early to call Egnew a bust.

Shouldn't expect anything less considering how a majority of these threads go.

Is Egnew fast? I mean, how bad could he be line up in the slot or on the wing in a 4WR set? There's got to be some sets where you don't even worry about him blocking somebody but just let him battle a nickelback for a fade pass.

Phillip Rivers sat for 2 years, Aaron Rodgers sat for 4 years, Tom Brady sat for a year, Victor Cruz was on the Giants practice squad for a year, Malcolm Floyd was a practice squad player for the majority of his rookie season and played in just 4 games...there are a few more but I think that's good enough.
These are "nonsense" comparisons. You can't compare QB's because they don't get "spot action"; unless the starter gets hurt. Floyd was not even drafted...let along a 3rd. Cruz was also undrafted.

So, no that isn't "good enough." Your examples of Floyd and Cruz are cases where they were not "expected" to produce, but did. In this case...Egnew is "expected" to produce and hasn't.

Not sure if he has been mentioned.

Jimmy Graham was also drafted in the third round. Graham only played one season of college ball after transfering from basketball. Graham did not make his NFL debut until Week 9 and only played in 5 games his rookie season.

Not saying Eggy is the next Graham. As others have mentioned, Victor Cruz, Malcom Floyd both rode the PS before making it big.

and, if memory serves me - despite starting a game against the steelers, he finished his NFL career with ZERO completions!

Keep this in mind. The 2 TEs to come out of Missouri prior to Egnew were both studs there but never amounted to anything in the NFL. They have the same issue as Egnew. A lack of strength resulting in poor blocking. Hopefully this staff can develop his inner core because he has very good pass catching skills.

It's amazing how much face time the guy gets in games, he always seems to be standing next to someone important on the sidelines in games. Still has the "I don't know what the f is going on here" look on his face though.
