I respect him more than all the other guys in the nfl media. And he has been really positive about Philbin and Tannehill all year.

Gil Brandt had good things to say about Jeff Ireland. Uh oh, this won't go over well with the pitchfork and torch crowd.
Seriously though, I agree with most of what he said there about the Dolphins, I do think things look bright going into the 2013 offseason. The team has a lot of weapons at its disposal to improve the team and I am excited to see what happens in free agency and the draft. Plus I really like Joe Philbin and most of the staff he put in place.

AIR JORDAN
Gil Brandt has always been bullish on Tannehill. Level-headed and often correct insight. I will take his prediction and run with it.
I respect his opinion a lot. We have far surpassed all expectations this season. And another year in the schemes, another offseason to add some depth in the secondary and at receiver and we should be in very good position next year. Not forgetting the lack of quality in our division, which will always benefit us. I am really liking where this team is heading.

I hope he's right. I want to see us make the playoffs and play some good football again.
Meh. I will believe it when I see it, too many years now have I had hope in a better future for the Dolphins. I now will wait until the season starts to see how it all adds up. Had we the tools this year we had a favorable schedule to do well. We lacked the players and fell short again(most likely). That said, I do like Philbin and Tannyhill has at least shown promise if he can keep getting better in the offseason ( it is not just a lack of wide recievers).
Gil Brandt on NFL.com analysis regarding teams to rise in 2013.
2) Miami DolphinsJoe Philbin has hired a good coaching staff, and together they've done a very good job with the second-youngest roster in the NFL. Defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle has stood out, leading a unit that's given up just 279 points, sixth-best in the league. In fact, I'm impressed with the entire organization, including general manager Jeff Ireland, who has done well to improve the team. This was a splintered group, but Philbin and his staff have really pulled everything together. Ryan TannehillRookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill seems to get better with every game, playing very well in the second half of the Week 15 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Dolphins should have plenty of cap money to spare, but they'll have to prioritize whom to sign among a group of potential free agents that includes offensive lineman Jake Long, running back Reggie Bush and receiver Brian Hartline. Still, they've shown they can make the right moves recently, like trading cornerback Vontae Davis to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for some extra draft picks in 2013, which they can use to add receivers with size and speed.

I'm drinking that kool-aid and i dont care what anybody says.
go fins.
