It would be around a 2% or 3% chance. It doesn't have to be an "assault" rifle. What if it's 2 or 3 guys all packing 9mm handguns. An AR-15 would greatly increase your chances of successfully defending your home against multiple enemies with guns. Home invasions happen everyday in this country and have been on the rise. Having the best defense rifle to defend against such a scenario would be the best choice and it happens to be our right too.

What if, what if. Are we talking about an extract from the movie TAKEN or something that happens in reality?

Giving the fact that 97% or more of gun crimes/murders involve handguns. And the overwhelming majority of these mass shootings involve handguns. Why don't we call handguns "Assault" weapons????

Back to the topic at hand which is the industrial slaughter of children in schools by one individual. Or the slaughter of people in movie theaters.

Really, well it seems like the NRA are having quite an influence on policy over the last 20 years and they are nothing more than spokesmen for gun manufacturers.

They are just like any other special interest group...they try to influence policy based on their best interest. Every industry practices this tactic. I can verify that it happens tremendously in the medical industry.
