It's no lie... With a couple of clutch plays we would easily be in the wildcard.

Had Ireland found us a couple of playmakers in the last 5 years we would be in the playoffs.

2 things stand out to me, when I look at the season as a whole in terms of plays. 1) Miami turned the ball over too many time in Miami Territory that resulted in easy points for the opposing teams. 2) Missed FG's Directly Cost Miami 2 wins this year. IF for arguments sake Miami hits those 2 missed FG's Miami is at 9 wins, if the season ended today. Also How much better would the Defense look if you cut 1/2 of those turnovers inside Miami out of the equation? I give credit to the coaching staff for the ability to put players like Dansby, Burnett, Bush, Tannehill, Wake and Hartline in the position they are in. I realize all these stats or numbers that could be meaningless, but to me it came down to the missed FG's and Turnovers, that cost this team more win's in 2012. Imagine how much better Coyle and Sherman could be, if they had a true #1 WR and better DB's patrolling the defensive backfield? This team is close IMHO. There is much more positives looking forward than at anytime under BP or Saban. These stats mentioned in this thread and article are more positives to look forward to in coming seasons under this coaching staff. Lets hope these stats in the future turn into more wins.

Were a FG kicker away from 10-11 wins this season. Numbers don't lie, we are a young solid team thats on the rise. We should be playing for the division this week. Next year i would expect a wild card with the possibility of a division title and maybe a bye.

Interesting that you would make fun of this, especially when you consider the Dolphins have 123 more YAC yards than the Bears and 236 more YAC yards than the Jets.

It shows our close losses could've very easily been wins. It shows we're close with some tweaking.

And our close wins could've easily been losses. This is always a dumb argument.
