I'm a first generation son of an Iranian immigrant. Muslims HATE Al Queda, the Taliban, and everyone who acts in an extreme manner. They are furious that they make the rest of them look like something they're not.

Then why are there so many muslim terrorists?

The Westboro people do what they do because they have rights and are protected by law. If they overstep these rights and protections then authorities stop them. If they break the law then they'll be arrested and tried.

Do muslim terrorists have similar protections under their nation's laws? If not, are they supported/protected by the authorities of the region?

How many Muslims have American forces killed since 2001? I've found a low-end estimate for 1990 to 2009, and it's 288,000. How many of these were Muslim terrorists? I can't find a tally so far. The number is very, very small relative to 288,000. The tally for drone strikes is 2-3,000 with a high proportion being innocent people. Drone strikes produce more terrorists than they kill, according to a former CIA official.
