Miami Dolphins’ recent signees might make impact in 2013

Binns will probably have a good game on Sunday. This will be all the excuse Ireland will need to pass up on a WR in the draft and draft an OL.

The Dolphins still have one game left in the 2012 season, but General Manager Jeff Ireland and coach Joe Philbin have already been making roster moves with 2013 in mind. The Dolphins claimed receiver Armon Binns and cornerback Dimitri Patterson off waivers in the last three weeks – Binns from Cincinnati, Patterson from Cleveland —in part to respond to injuries and in part to give them an extended look. Each has contributed quickly and made the case that he should be invited back.
Binns, undrafted out of the University of Cincinnati in 2011, could provide depth to a receiver corps that has been in flux. At 6-3 and 210 pounds, he is the tallest and heaviest receiver on the roster and a mismatch in the slot.
“This is a blessing just to be here and playing,” said Binns, who had 18 catches for 210 yards in Cincinnati before falling out of favor with the coaches.
“It’s the end of the year and guys are starting to prepare for next season. That’s the business. I take it as an opportunity to audition so I can be back next year.”

"It happens all the time," Taylor said. "It's not an exact science and personnel guys aren't the end-all, be-all. " Jason Taylor,2011

The phins still need a speedy WR.

One smarter than a brick (unlike Gates) & not afraid of contact (Ginn)

Wheaton of Oregon State fits that bill and the Beavers play a pro style system.

binns maybe he comes cheap but patterson no way unless he will play at minimum which I doubt since he already has a contract. Paying him 5 million to play next year would be the start of the dumbest idea we have had in the new year

well anything above minimum is too much and I doubt he just says screw a contract he just signed.
I mean if he gets cut he still will collect a decent amount of money and then get a new contract , not much motivation to take a pay cut esp with us having so much cap space.
The guy is not good I dont even see why anyone would be excited , just purchase nfl rewind and watch the games in philly and cleveland where he is getting toasted deep.
That being said if he was making a minimum salary he would be worth keeping

wow so a guy that was so bad in cleveland they cut him in year one of his contract(doesnt happen often) after a rookie took his job. Yea that Buster Skrine drafted in 5th round took the nickel back job from him.
wow just wow what a way to spend 5 million

both are better than what he had at their spots before their arrival. but $$$$ needs to be in order first. (Talking to you, Patterson.)
