Reminder that Jeff Ireland liked TY Hilton enough to ask the Colts to send him over for Vontae, but not enough to draft him in the third round when hhe passed over him in order to draft Michael Egnew. How many touchdowns is that on the year now for Hilton? 7? 8? How many does our entire receiving corps have? 3?

Our General Manager sure knows how to build a football team.
Me say come, Mister Fisher man, show me da contract

That's 2 for Vontae today. So more INTs (in only 10 games while learning a new D with no training camp), a far superior tackler, and all around better corner than anything we have on our roster and he's still only 24. He'll possibly make 9 million less than Sean Smith next year. That better be one hell of a late 2nd round pick.

amen... Can't wait to take Koa Misi part 2 with that LATE second round pick from the colts.

Watching the entire game, the battle of Vontae vs. Johnson is reminding me of the Finnegan/Johnson battles. It truthfully looks like a legit #1 CB going against a top 5 WR. Johnson has won some battles and Davis has won some battles.

I was officially done with Ireland after the Vontae trade . . . so no need for me to comment, but you don't give up young, cheap, quality starting CB's in this league . . . you just don't. People can nitpick at the things that Vontae did wrong, but Jeff Ireland missed on that whole ordeal . . . and Colts fans LOVE Vontae Davis . . . while we probably will overpay to keep Sean Smith.

Just watching this game is sickening . . . Even if you just give us TY HIlton, Reggie Wayne and Vontae Davis back . . . our season could have been different.

Word. Just those moves, which so many of us were clamoring for would have made us a playoff team and a dangerous one. Vontae played Andre extremely well today while displaying a physicality that most corners in this league don't have. All you had to do was watch Johnson skin Vaughan alive when Vontae wasn't on him. We don't have a corner of that level on this team. Let's say it's highly unlikely that a late 2nd round pick in this corner starved draft is going to reach Vontae's talent level. And at best not without several years of seasoning. It really was irritating watching the Colts today. They have the 3 elements we are most desperately missing on this team. A blazingly fast speed WR, a highly productive vet WR, and a corner that we ****ing gave them. Those 3 players on the Dolphins (both WRs were very attainable) and we'd be in the playoffs while the Colts watched.

Truth of the matter is : people dont want to accept trading vontae was a mistake, they will nitpick at every detail they can find against him but the facts are, he was our best corner and a rare talent as you saw today. He is a playmaker and was a 1st round pick for a reason. I looked at the highlights and had schaub put a little more air into the throw it would have been overthrown because vontae had such good coverage on the WR. I know who im rooting for in the playoffs, thats the colts. Atleast we got one true dolphin in the playoffs right now and thats vontae. Vontaes never been in the playoffs before, we are about to see what he can really do.

I don't like Vontae and don't miss him and don't really care about him, because he is obviously a mental defective, but the fact is that the way Vontae was traded willy-nilly for draft picks late in the preseason tells you everything you need to know about the buffoon calling the shots in Davie.
