Miller plays from the "up" position in a 4-3 and he's probably the best pass rusher in the NFL.

What I'm getting at is Mingo can be a pass rusher in our scheme standing.

Nope, go Te'o. Ray Lewis Jr.
I love Te'o but Jones is gonna be a bad *** in the NFL as well... Possibly a 15 sacks a season guy.

Why do we want to take mingo away.from what he does best?

Let the man put his hand in the dirt and rush the qb.

You don't think Mingo can learn to play the run like Miller did? Mingo is probably a better athlete too. IMO he can be a damn good 4-3 OLB.

I know he probably won't be the same person as Ray Lewis but probably as a football player just as good a prospect.
Hold the phone. Mingo is probably a better athlete than V. Miller? You can make a strong case that Von Miller is the best ATHLETE in the NFL. His ability to move in space is special; his burst off the line is special; his ability to run the arch is special. Also, Miller was much more productive in college. I'm fine drafting Mingo as a pass-rush specialist that could develop into an every-down DE, but let's not allow the blood-rush to hurt our judgement.

Yes Mingo is a ****ing animal.

Miller is the best defensive player atm, no question about it. Not trying to say Mingo will be as good as him just stating my opinion on how athletic Mingo is compared to Miller.

    Damontre Moore

I hate the idea of drafting guys based on
atheletic ability and not production. Mingo had a chance to be the first pick in the draft yet his numbers were nothing special. That's a big honkin red flag.

John Simon from Ohio State will probably be a third round pick and I'll guarantee he will have more sacks than Mingo his rookie year.

Mingo is too much of a gamble for my taste and this franchise cannot afford to gamble.

I think we have different definitions of athletic.

I really like Damontre Moore, but I think it's unlikely that he falls to us at this point. The only reason I could see that would be if he performed poorly at the combine.

Maybe trading up would be worth it.

I would take Moore in a heartbeat. 80 tackles from a DE...ridiculous. He's by far my favorite DL prospect in this draft.
yep, first guy i have conviction on as DE without looking at werner or having him fall to us. He passes the eye test to me. He just looks the part in the pros.

Also, its not just me saying Mingo is more situational than complete. thats how you trust your eyes.

We have to score big on these draft picks!
