offer worthy free agents plus keeping key players, how hard would it be for Ireland to mess things up?

SAMMY WATKINS IS THE BEST WR IN THE COUNTRY & FUTURE MIAMI DOLPHIN!
I think it's got to be extremely difficult to nail all of your draft picks (or at least the big ones) and to get the best supplemental players via free agency and trade; all without breaking the bank. I admit I have no faith in Ireland, but that's a tall task to ask of any GM.
I will say I'm hoping beyond hope that if there ever was an offseason where everything went right for Miami, I hope it's this one. With so many players to cut or re-sign and with a good amount of draft picks and cap space, this offseason could make or break this team for quite a while. I suppose it's always that way, but there is real opportunity and hope if we hit on several key players/positions. Otherwise it's back to the drawing board ad infinitum.

People keep talking about "all this money"...but it really isn't there. We have a lot of people whose contracts are expiring. We won't sign them all back, but we will sign some and those guys aren't going to be cheap!!! That cap space will disappear quickly...

In both the 2008 and 2009 drafts we had 4 picks in the top three rounds. As well, we had a great deal of cap space. Of those draft picks we only have 2 left(Jake Long, who could be walking, and Sean Smith, who should be walking) and our top free agents were cut before their 3rd year. Why should we expect this offseason to be different? Im not very confident.

Tampa, despite paying for a pre-CBA quarterback and 3rd overall defensive tackle contracts and a top tier left tackle contract, dished out $104 million for Vincent Jackson and Carl Nicks. They still had $18 million or so left over. If we cant resign our players and sign a free agent or two to giant contracts, our front office is more incompetant than anyone imagined. Unforgivably incompetant.

My greatest hope is that Philbin will be in Ireland's ear often. If he attempts to fill our needs, I gotta hope that he will hit on a few of them.
It's gonna be fairly easy for this sack of excrement to screw up the off season, the guy sucks. We're probably gonna end up signing Jake Long to the richest LT contract in NFL history and waste all of our draft picks on crappy slow front seven players and guards. Hate Jeff Ireland.

"I don't have pet peeves, I have psychotic ****ing hatred"

I never thought he'd trade Brandon Marshall for peanuts and try to replace him with Legedu Naanee either, but lo and behold.
