The Miami Herald expects the Dolphins to "consider making a serious run" at free agent Greg Jennings this offseason.

Jennings knows Dolphins coach Joe Philbin's offense from their time together in Green Bay. It's about as logical an offseason fit we can contemplate in 2013 free agency. Philbin has stated publicly that he doesn't believe free agency is the way to build a team, but the cap-rich Fins can afford to drop some coin on an established wideout, and Jennings would perfectly fit their mold.

It's a no-brainer. We have to spend almost 50 million of the cap space we'll have due to the CBA. We should have close to 60 million total after cuts, cap rollover, and restructures. Why not bring in a top 10 WR that knows the system and is a good locker room guy??? We should also bring in a seam threat TE, plus draft a WR and TE this year as well. Give Tannehill some weapons so he can develop into a Franchise QB.

Is this really news? Of course we are giving it serious consideration. This just gives the Herald an excuse if he doesnt actually sign.. oh well it was only being taken under serious consideration. Wouldn't be surprised if this was made up, doesnt take a genius to see a wr-needy team and think they might be going after a top free agent who fits the scheme and has history with the coach.

I would love to sign Greg Jennings, ditch Hartline, and then draft Keenan Allen. I know everyone's totally against a WR in the first round, but I really think they could compliment each other well, especially if we can get a TE who can work the seam.

Also, as for the ditch Hartline part, the only reason I WOULDN'T is because of his chemistry with Tannehill. Besides that, rumor is that he's asking for around $5 million a year, which is way over his value.

IF we can land Jennings and draft a WR with one our top 5 picks, then we should have enough amo to get a stellar TE and stud CB. My other holes I'm concerned is RT, assuming Jake Long leaves, and DE pass rusher. Lots of holes, but we can fill at least half this year. We must get our veteran reciever and another second tier FA to fill another hole.
