    2009-2011

Most conf title game apps in NFL
    most playoff wins in AFC
tied for most playoff wins in NFL

that is elite, sorry that bothers you guys.
Don't most of those arguments hold through 2012 as well? Why do you think that 2009 - 2011 Jets were elite but not 2009 - 2012? I don't understand how you can wrap a non playoff, 8-8 2011 season with 2 playoff wins in 09 and 2 playoff wins in 10 and call them all elite. If you are going to do that, you might as well consider them elite from 2009 - 2012.

The Jets have struggled to make it to at least 9 wins 3 out of 4 seasons under Rex. That is not elite.

Missing 1 postseason is one thing but 2 in 4 years is half the time. The elite years were '09 & '10 but including 2011 the Jets were still elite overall those 3 years as they were elite 2 of 3 years, now it is 2 of 4 years. 50% of the time doesn't cut it. The elite thing is long gone at this point, they need to re-establish themselves as one of the top teams before I start discussing them as elite again.

    2009-2011:
    most title game apps
    lead AFC in playoff wins
    ties in NFL

    2009-2012:
SF or GB will be in their 2nd title game, Bal and NE could reahc their 2nd title game so no longer do they stand alone.
Bal has alreayd caught them in playoff w2isn and can pass them, GB passes them, if NE reaches SB they tie, if Bal wins one more they move ahead.

the #s aren't quite as impressive as '09-'11. Still a top 10 team overall but not elite.

I will simplify it then. Elite means having some hardware to show for it.

I think you asked the average intelligent football fan this question in january of 2011 they'd say we were elite, 2 years later and 2 missed postseasons can cloud judgement in this what have you done for me lately society but we were definitely an elite team overall 2009-2011.
I had this conversation with a former co-worker of mine a few months back and he laughed at me when I said I 'knew' someone who says the Jets are elite. He's a Mets fan too.

that settles it, if a former co-worker of phinz laughs at the notion that the Jets were elite than I guess we weren't.

we sure weren't lucky to go into Foxboro and whip up on the Pats 2 years ago.

I can buy luck w/ one run, if we just made it in '09 and never won antoher playoff game then it is fluky but back to back? not luck.

I am in Pennsylvania and in my office we have one Dolphins fan(me), one Bills fan, one Broncos fan, one Cowboys fan, one Browns fan(he was raised in Ohio) and the rest is Eagles and Steelers fans. Eagles fans actually represent the majority of the office. We talk sports almost every day at lunch and sometimes have heated debates about certain topics. One thing we all agree on is that we are glad we are not Jets fans and that they are a joke of an organization now.

That's awesome cowboy, Bills, Browns and dolphin fans are glad their teams have won a combined ONE playoff game since 2002 while we won 4 since 2009. I love that you guys love being losers
