I was wondering if any of you guys play MMO's.

Im a non-stereotypical video game nerd, im capable of having a normal conversation with other people, I play sports regularly (Rugby) and I have a girlfriend but dear lord I have a serious MMO addiction I play them much more than I should and they are by far my favourite game genre. If I had the choice of going out to a club with the Mrs or doing a raid with my mates who I have never even met... odds are im doing the raid

My drug of choice is Star Wars the old republic, I also dabble in planet side 2 and recently I have played a bit of Rift and Everquest 2. Ive never got into WOW though, I just cant stand the leveling content, I do have all the games though, even the pandas. I play TOR obsessively, to the point the GF thinks I prefer my trooper to her.

I really enjoy the social and team based aspects of MMO's especially raiding or massive coordinated assaults in ps2.

MMO's are just my thing, FPS with the exception of PS2 and maybe BF3 jut don't do it for me. I also love RPG's but MMO's are the core of my gaming diet.

This all may just seem nerdy gibberish to most of you but maybe I will find a few fellow MMO gamers on here

I have played a lot on MMOs over the last 7 years or so - WoW, TOR, GW2, AoC, LOTRO, Warhammer, SWG, Rift etc. I am not a hardcore gamer though and not really an "endgame" guy - I simply enjoy the journey and story which is why I was very fond of TOR. At the moment I only play a bit World of Tanks now and again. I will probably give the Elder Scrolls Online, but I have a feeling it is just going to be another average MMO.

For what it's worth, Elder Scrolls Online is looking pretty awesome.

    Re: Anyone else play MMO's?

I haven't played an MMO hardcore for a couple of years now. But I lost over 2 years of my life to EVE Online. I played that game for several hours every day and it would not be unusual to lose about 12 hours a day playing, sometimes!

I also tried Lord of the Rings Online, Age of Conan, and World of Warcraft. But they all sort of felt similar and were not as addicting as EVE was.

I would really like to try the Elder Scrolls MMO. Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Skyrim were my two favorite games on the Xbox and the only games I ever got perfect 1000 scores in achievements.

I also loved the Knights of the Old Republic games and would be up for playing that MMO, as well.

I just don't know if I have time now with a new job starting. That's really the whole thing about MMOs - they will usually suck up your life!

I use to play WoW, played it since 2006, but the raiding 3-4 days a week just got very very old. Sitting in vent for 2-3 hours listening to nerds talk about their nerd days didn't help either.

I'm a sandbox kinda guy. I can't do the themparks. You guys should check out The Repopulation if you haven't heard of it, it will release sometime this year. Wildstar also looks like it may be OK..although..it's a themepark.

Probably going to have to wait until EQ Next for what I personally want. I grew up playing UO though so I'm not really into the whole raiding/dungeon stuff. I'm used to more freedom of choices and open world.
