Maybe, maybe not. But an upgraded stadium will definitely keep them here for at least the next couple of decades.

Sun life will never be a top notch stadium. Being designed as a multi purpose stadium was a mistake since football is the only tenants in the stadium with no more baseball and soccer there. Sun life will never compete with all these state of the art stadiums on with these upgrades.

I prersonally never though the stadium was as bad as everyone makes it out to be - at least compared to other NFL cities, our stadium isnt that bad. My issue has always been the stadium location, the traffic, and the attendance.

The stadium isn't that bad compared to dumps like the Black Hole and Qualcomm Stadium...

The stadiums in Jacksonville and Tampa are equally as bad, and far worse than Sun Life stadium.

Maybe Ross should lie and hide his books and then dupe County politicians into paying for stadium upgrades and renovations.

    That's what the Marlins did.
    Yep. That was disgusting.

In the phins stadium case, if the tax payers only have to chip in for a portion, it would actually be benificial for everyone as the stadium will continue to attract Super Bowls and other major events that bring tons of outside money to the community.

While I don't have any firm evidence that hosting Super Bowls actually has a positive impact on the local economy (I've seen research that indicates that it really has no benefit), if Ross is willing to put up 80 to 90 percent of the cash, then the county should jump on it. There's a huge, huge difference between "The team is going to front 90% of the money and we'd just like the county to help get us over the hump" and "PLEASE BUILD US A NEW STADIUM SO THAT OUR MOUTH BREATHING OWNER CAN BRING IN WASHED UP OVERPRICED FREE AGENTS AND THEN HAVE ANOTHER FIRE SALE AFTER THE SEASON ENDS IN A TRAINWRECK."

And... Nubs is right. Even though the team isn't moving, having the county pitch in a little to the operations cost of the new stadium could go a long way to making the team a more attractive situation for a good ownership group when Steve decides to start thinking about estate management.
