Sherman admitted after the last game that the staff had limited Tannehill for most of the season and towards the end they began expanding his playbook. All of you are making great observations. For one, besides adding playmakers, I expect the up tempo offense like we thought we were going to get. Tannehill has to mature on all levels for that and he has to have playmakers. We actually are seeing New England incorporating more and more of this in their offense, as they always seem to be ahead of the curve. This is what I hope for next year.

I am sure they were trying to execute plays he was comfortable with and that fit with our personnel. Also, what happened to RG3 with the knee injuries, the hits, and the concussion was exactly what they were trying to avoid with Tannehill by limiting his exposure to such. He still took some hard shots and ended up with a knee injury and playing in a brace mid-season. He was much better in Dec when the brace came off and he could plant and step into his throws...

Greta assessment Digital. I can't wait to see who is brought in playmaker wise. I used to HOPE Ireland would make these moves, but with Philbin and Ross staring at him, I think it gets done well this season.
I watched Eifert highlights. I'm not impressed. Guy catches the ball (A good thing) but then drops or is tackled by the first defender. Thats pretty poor. Whoever we bring in for pass catching needs to ring YAC with them.

It wasn't just about trying to execute plays Tannehill was comfortable with but the entire offense as well. Mike Sherman said early in the season they were still teaching their new offense to the players.

Remember, because of Tannehill's familiarity with the system Mike Sherman was installing, he was helping to teach the new offense to the other QBs and players.

Great thread and Digital hit the nail on the head in so many ways. I think if we can get more extended drives we will speed up our offense and get more plays per game, the concern this year was clearly it was putting too much pressure on the defense with short drives. While we all expect and hope that Tannehill makes strides and improves in his 2nd season on the other side defensive coordinators now have a much greater body of work to look at. One weakness Tannehill does appear to have is when teams drop players back into coverage rather than blitzing, I'm sure some of this is lack of talent around him with no deep threat but I guess that is something he needs to work on. I would also like his accuracy to improve, the WCO is predicated on YAC and that requires great ball placement.

I suspect the plan will be to let Tannehill take more chances and see what he can do. The inexperience excuse no longer applies.

What I expect is there will continue to be a myriad of excuses of how it is everyone else's fault but Tannehill's if he fails to produce again next year on finheaven.

New England is proving that a up tempo offense can be executed without having a mobile quarterback. Brady is like Marino was in that he can extend plays by shuffling in the pocket but he will never threaten a defense with his running skills. The Patriots protect him but the offense is as dynamic as any in the league. This is what I envision for Tannehill and our offense and hopefully Sherman will run it next year.

4000 passing yards 20 tds and around 12 ints...almost a 2 to 1 td to int ratio...tannehills breaking 20 passing tds in 2013...wouldn't surprise me if we give him some help if he threw for 25 tds next year
hoops scoops...prospects mia should target top 4 rounds 2013 draft...

They will continue to use this excuse no matter what.
