I really thought he'd be a great under the radar signing. What a disastrous FA period last year was.

meh. not sure how you can pin this one on jeff. Esp. if dude was injured after we payed him.
If Marshall goes, the entire 2012 FA class is gone. That shows terrible player evaluation.

    Not really.

None of the players we signed were signed to start for us, they were small deals to add depth.

It seems to me that if you had to work with limited capspace you would make your FA signings count, not sign a bunch of guys that you expect to get cut. It's a watse of money.

He will go to training camp and likely will be on the roster. No reason to release him at this point, the cap savings is not much.

Not a waste of money if they sign small deals w/o guaranteed money.

He'll be gone. Big salary, moderate skills and back issues equate to gone. I can figure out that one.

Poor signing because veteran crafty cornerbacks in their late 20s/early 30s are out there. I can't count how many times I thought a guy at that position was finished then he is impressive on another team. We simply identified the wrong one.

oh don't start with that again. First you and I have no idea what dynamics played in the dolphins training facility. we have no idea what conversations played out between reggie wayne's agent and ireland. Niether of us knows if an offer was made if wayne actually wanted to come here without manning, nor what amount it would've taken to bring in a reciever that is on the wrong side of 30. Just because he had a great season, in no way means he would've had a great season here, nor does it mean he'd continue to have great seasons down the road. A lot of ifs, when it WAS clear we'd entered full rebuilding mode, not championship mode. So please stop with the Ireland wasted money and didn't bring in reggie wayne. Finally a point you and others NEVER addressed, was how hard would it have been to redo another player's contract to free up room if we DID indeed want to sign reggie wayne. You guys keep ignoring that little bit for freeing up money, you act like it wasn't even an option.
