NM Respresentative Trying to Outlaw Abortion After Rape as "Tampering With Evidence"

A Republican lawmaker in New Mexico introduced a bill on Wednesday that would legally require victims of rape to carry their pregnancies to term in order to use the fetus as evidence for a sexual assault trial.

No clue why she is even trying this considering we are an overwhelmingly Blue state. Funny take on the debate, though. The same party who thinks a zygote is a person is now trying to call an infant "evidence"...

You’re an overwhelmingly blue state because of the Hispanic vote, which just so happens to also be overwhelmingly pro-life. Although I am not sure why you think that matters since the people won’t vote on this bill, their representatives who are already in the state congress will. A zygote is a person though, it’s a living human being, and since you’re big into affirming “scientific concepts” you should already know that.

Just read some local stuff on this, and it seems to be nothing more than a publicity stunt. The state senate and house are both Democrat controlled, so this never stood a chance. It seems that she was just trying to get her name out there...

You’re committing the fallacy of division here, myocytes and neurons are merely parts of an organism, a Zygote is a complete organism, what is true of the whole is not always true of each of its individual parts.
