Dolphins Talent Acquisition Failures on Display in SF/ATL Game

Today's playoff game between San Francisco and Atlanta highlights two of the most important talent acquisition failures of the Ireland era:

    a. The epic fiasco of the failed attempt to hire Jim Harbaugh as our head coach.
    b. The disastrous decision to choose Jake Long instead of Matt Ryan as the first overall pick in the draft.

As you sit down to watch today's game, consider these two talent acquisition failures along with our four consecutive losing seasons and ask yourself where would the Dolphins be if we had gotten either of these two situations right.

Bill Parcells is to blame for missing out on Matt Ryan.

Fans need to get that straight.

How do you know Ireland or others wanted Big Jake more than Matty Ice?

Final say went to Parcells and we KNOW FOR FACT who he felt was the better pick.

It's like blaming Brian Gaine for all of Miami's current shortcomings.

Because there are plenty of reports that Ireland and Sparano worked out Henne, Flacco and Ryan they reported to Parcells Henne was just as good.

Henne could have made that same throw Matty Ice did on 4th down too.

Haha a little playoff humor. I have seen just as many reporters report that Miami was highest on Flacco.

Flacco may be the best QB out of that class when it is all said and done.

Parcells screwed us over. He was in charge, he had final say. He has his own two eyes as well to evaluate talent.

Any attempt to shift that blame is wrong.

there are also reports that the team wanted Flacco and was set to draft him. We ended up having to "settle" on henne.

Technically, we could have drafted all 4 QB's that are playing today.
