Pat Devlin is a guy really paying his dues. He never got anything handed to him like Tannehill, Moore, Henne, etc. He had to start on the practice squad, then fight for 3rd string last year, this year he'll have to fight for 2nd string. Then maybe next year or if Tannehill goes down this year, he will get to play and get a chance to be our starter.

I honestly thought he did better than Tanny in the preseason. I feel that if they had not drafted a QB, Devlin would have beaten out Moore.

I like Devlin and I'm glad he's on the team but to say he did better than RT in the preseason pretty much ignores the fact that he mostly played against the 3rd team defenses. I think it's fair to say that he's improved from year 1 to year 2 but the idea that he's a starter now isn't based on any evidence against 1st level competition, even in the preseason.

I am looking forward to seeing what he does this preseason because I think Moore will move on. I wish him well and I'm glad that Devlin seems to have progressed enough to make it plausible that he could be a backup.

I'm not a huge fan of the idea that we need a "veteran" QB as a backup to mentor RT because there aren't that many backups that would be good mentors anyway.

I have no problem with Devlin but we still need to bring in a vet. Hell bring in garrard for minimum this year, im sure he will be cheap and the staff liked him enough to be the starter at first last year

Why does he need us to buy him another surgery? Won't ObamaCare cover that?

I said at minimum. There is a lack of decent backup level guys in free agency so why no take a chance that wont cost us any money unlike last year when it did.
Im pretty sure he would have rather not got injured and made more money though. Hell he was still a better bargain than Marshall who just got torched then hurt for 5 million a year

I honestly do not think Moore is worth a contract extension. Keep Devlin as number 2 and draft another QB late for reassurance
