Yeatman to be our new RT?

The fact that the Dolphins have been grooming Yeatman to play on the offensive line, but this part of the article intrigued me:

Joe Philbin has a ton of experience working with offensive linemen, and he was instrumental in helping former tight ends like Robert Gallery and Eric Steinbach become (excellent) lineman. Word is that Yeatman is also working with offensive line guru Hudson Houck this offseason which is a great idea, and certain sign that he and the team are serious about improving this young man as a lineman.
It is worth noting that Yeatman is up over 300 pounds at this point so he has significantly bulked up lately meaning that size (or lack thereof) will no longer be an issue for Yeatman, and he will be working with some fantastic offensive line minds so if there is a legit offensive tackle in there he will be able to bring it out and perform going forward. It surely remains to be seen if this will work out, but word is that the Dolphins are certainly considering the idea of Yeatman getting playing time on their line in 2013 (especially if they do lose Long).

Interesting a serious cost savings if it works.

You "hope not"? I would be great if he becomes that tackle, even if he is our primary backup. That would be one less position to plug.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but I dont even get my hopes up anymore when it comes to Outstanding O-line coaches and the Miami Dolphins.

we had the best around here and our O-line still has not gotten fixed.

    If it works!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT

If at worst he becomes a backup, I'll take it.

It sure didn't take him long to he over 300 pounds. That's a great indicator of his work ethic. He should have the skill set it takes in the zone blocking scheme since he used to be a TE. We'll see if it pans out.

Dude better get A LOT stronger if he is going to play right tackle. He is weaker than Martin and Martin isn't strong by an stretch of the means for a lineman.

I'm interested to see him in camp next year. If he becomes a solid backup at LT/RT and can be the occasional tight end eligible blocker in short yardage situation....that's fine with me. If he ends up beint a starter down the line, that's just icing on the cake.
