He might be a starting Offensive lineman in 2014, but not next year.

It sure didn't take him long to he over 300 pounds. That's a great indicator of his work ethic. He should have the skill set it takes in the zone blocking scheme since he used to be a TE. We'll see if it pans out.
Unless he got over 300 by sitting around and eating McDonald's

Sign Levitre in FA, and draft Matthews or one of those Michigan guys at OT in a trade down in round 1. If OG Cooper falls to the second, you snag him too.
    Martin, Levitre, Pouncey, Cooper, Matthews
    Garner, Samuda, Cook, Jerry, Yeatman

Not a bad lineup...lots of flexibility on starters and bench.

In second round: go bpa on D, TE Ertz, and WR Bailey
    Third round: WR Swopes

Add bpa on D in rounds 4 and 5.

Add in WR Jennings and TE cook/Bennett in FA, and all of a sudden, Tanne has just what he needs.
FYI - Matthews is going back to A&M for his senior season.

Only further proves why this measurement is not a perfect tool for evaluating players. Put you in front of either of these players and you spend most of your time on your back or tossed like a ragdoll.

Note- They are also very serious about technique. You can't just bounce it off your chest.
Maybe but remember speed kills and if you get into someone, into their core it's all over no matter what you do. Low body strength is were you get your push but upper body strength keeps the rush from getting into your core.

I played DE so I know what it's like to take on guys 100lbs heaver than me. Technique only goes so far and in the case of the NFL where it is the best of the best strength and athleticism are much greater tools. Bigger, stronger, faster will always win out over average, average, technique.

Are you sure you're not talking about Eric Fisher?

No, I'm not sure. I thought there were a couple different OL Matthews and now I'm mixing up all the wrong ones.
