What Jeff said is all well and good, but lets see what he actually does to bring in playmakers. I don't want him to be foolish but I wouldn't mind a little risk taking like perhaps trading some of those draft picks to move back into the first round if there is a particularly interesting player still available. We really need a home run or two via the draft & free agency.

Why does Ireland make any comment re Egnew? He was clearly a major disappointment in year 1. Let's see how he looks in training camp before declaring your confidence in him. One of Parcells best attributes was the capacity to admit a draft mistake in year 1 rather than live in hope that he would be a contributor. Pat White and Patrick Turner (the 2 Patsies), were both axed after a year because they were admitted draft errors. While it would be great if Egnew comes good, Ireland should be open to the possibility that Egnew was a draft mistake and may need to be cut.
