What happens when someone breaks into your house while you're in the shower? Is your shower head a pistol? What if you're asleep and don't hear someone coming in? What if you're in your house in the opposite of where your gun is and a thief breaks into the room you're currently in?

I'm not against having weapons but let's not act like they're saviors to any ******* that tries to get you.

With that logic we should stop arresting drunk drivers because no matter what you do there is a possibility a drunk driver can still kill you. You are right there are times when no matter what you do someone can still kill you, but the point is you should have the right to have every option at your disposal.

Apart from the armed forces, police officers and maybe farmers who need a quick and humane way of killing injured livestock, no ordinary citizen needs a gun for any reason.

There is no good reason to have one.

If nobody had guns but the people that actually require them to do their day to day work, thousands and thousands less people would die every year.

It is terrifying that there are people who think like this, that are allowed to walk among us and even vote. If there truely are people out there who feel this is a valid thought, PLEASE do us all a favor and leave thinking and decison making to those who have a clue.

I am just amazed at the magical thinking some ppl on this issue seem to hold. FYI, those ppl that die from gun violence would prob end up dead from a knife or some other blunt object. Again, unless you are willing to ban things like renting vans, horse **** and diesel fuel the kind of violence you all are talking about will never end. We've been killing each other in mass since we only had rocks and a sticks to get the job done!

Ahahaha right. Great rebuttal. I vote in a country where gun control exists and there are 1/10th of gun deaths per capita than in the USA and 1/5th of the murders per capita. Have a think about that. If I moved to America I would be 5 times more likely to be killed and 10 times more likely to be killed with a gun.

Yep because knives and baseball bats are as lethal as a pistol or a rifle. You're making my point. YES people will always want to kill eachother. That's absolutely a given fact. So why on earth are you guys happy living in a country where people have easy access to weapons that make it incredibly easy to do so? If you can get a gun for self defence, it means someone who might want to kill you can get a gun as well. Wouldn't everyone be safer if neither of you could get a gun?

I'm not saying taking everyone's gun away is at all realistic at this point. I'm saying if we could, the US would be a far safer place.

It's nice to live in a country where it is incredibly difficult to obtain or own a gun and almost impossible to obtain an automatic weapon, yes.
