Time for a change in spending
I support our new Coach and Quarterback. Go Miami! But they still have to prove they are the future, we've been fooled too many times!

He'll see guys like Aldon Smith week in and out.... (okay maybe not as good as Aldon, he's nasty, but I don't think he can block the top DE's consistently on the Left Side)

I don't want Martin at LT.... I just really don't want a declining overpaid Jake Long there.

Sadly the fins should let him walk. Not because of this season but he really has played through a ton of injuries and I actually think it's Miami's fault for not shutting him down at points. Probably took a few years easily off of his career.

You guys assume that Martin will be 1. Strong enough 2. Ready to play against the top ends on each team week in and week out.

    Negotiate with Jake.
If he wants too much, TAG HIM. 1 year prove it.
If he's worth it and returns to form, sign him to a big contract.
If not, Martin has had another year of building an NFL body and mindset. Kick him over and get a RT.

Tagging Jake Long should be out of the question. The LT franchise tag is 15 million this year.

I may be confused, but I thought the best indicator of someone would be their track record (aka what they've actually done).

Footage or Game Tape = Evidence or Proof. I'm not stating an opinion here, rather letting the video prove a fact.

I don't understand Bill, would you rather I have pulled out footage from him in college or from his Pee-Wee days?
I mean we are talking about him playing in the NFL, correct?

As for Aldon, he didn't just OWN Martin, he EMBARRASSED him beyond measure.
Not to mention the fact Martin (albeit a rookie) had many costly and stupid penalties throughout the season.

Don't assume I am hating on Martin. I just don't want him as my LT, that's all. He's got a lot of positives though. He got a ton of invaluable experience in his rookie year. He started and played in 16 games (stayed healthy) and the fact he's from Standford just reinforces he's intelligent. We'll see if he can use all of that to improve or build upon last season.

Your 3 reasons are all .gifs of the same play...so you have 1 reason....still embarassing though.

Martin, I thought handled himself ok this season. Not bad, not great...although he had moments of both. He definately needs to get stronger, and I am not sure if he will be able to accomplish all of it this offseason. I do know that there is no way you Franchise Jake for $15 million next year though. That would be absolutely insane. Actually, (I can't believe I am saying this) I think Armando is right on the money with his article on Jake.

It would be beyond insane to give Jake $15.3 Million for one season. You better believe fans would be kicking down Ireland's door with fire and pitchforks.

Spot on Don! I'll give you an A+ for observational and counting skills... But a C- overall for being too serious.
