The NFL and teams should be financing these stadiums. The way the NFL is evolving, the Super Bowl is going to eventually be opened to all venues and the highest bidder will win. That can cause a long wait to host the big game. Someone arguing how much the renovations help the local community enlighten me on how taxpayers are benefitting from the Marlins new stadium.

For all you "corporate"-haters out there, let me let you in on a little secret:

The Dolphins (as are all NFL franchises) are a CORPORATE entity by definition.

You hate "corporate" so much, go root for the local Pee Wee League team and forget about the NFL.

i support Stephen Ross. The day he fires ireland I'll support him even more.
Ryan Tannehill. Ah, what a relief. Life is good.

If the leadership of this country had balls they would abolish the IRS and adopt a flat tax of 20%. Not only do the rich contribute equally the nation would be much better off financially.
Agreed. A flat tax is a solution to a lot of things. Like illegal immigration and the burden that puts on our current tax system.

But I doubt it ever gets into law any time soon. The down side is a flat tax would in theory put a larger burden on the poor, at least thats how some ppl will spin it.

Well said . The benefit of an nfl team or a superbowl is always greatly fabricated. Walmart does more for the community with jobs and such so should we build walmarts for them.
It should go to a vote but of course Ross and the sleazy people who make these decisions wont have a vote. What a coincidence every time a superbowl comes up its between areas the nfl want to build a stadium or upgrades. what a sham,

Great idea. But, 20% of what? Gross Income, or Net Income? How would you define Gross or Net? How would you propose we monitor this system? Would everyone be issued 1099's with copies going to the government? If you abolish the IRS which government agency would you propose be in charge of handling all of this? Which entities and individuals are subject to this? What about flow through entities?

    See where this is going?

Good luck with your flat tax.
