My back deck has been up for about 8 years but is falling apart. Sometimes I invite my brother in law over for barbecue and beers. Think I'll ask him to help me foot the bill.

Pretty sad that billionaire Ross wont pay for the upgrades to his own stadium...unlike the upgrades Huizenga paid when he was owner to a stadium Robbie used his money to pay for when he was owner.
Ross paid for those upgrades that he put in when he bought the Dolphins.

If your deck brought millions of dollars to the local neighborhood you might ask them to contribute. The fact that he is a billionaire is irrelevant. Since the upgrades will attract events that will benefit the local community then why shouldn't they contribute? It is like any other investment by the city.

In real world terms, it probably means, if Ross doesn't do as he promised every step of the way the city will pull their ($) support. Seems beyond fair to me.

Did someone really compare owning a NFL franchise to a back yard deck? This country is so screwed!

I believe in recent years hes also invested something like 200-300 million in the stadium for upgrades. IMO we have one of the best if not the best owner in the NFL. I suppose our fans would prefer an owner that was cheap?

Whose pockets do suppose will be lined by the profits from these events? The stadium is privately owned, and should be privately maintained. Miami-Dade has bigger fish to fry(public education and roads at the very minimum) than pay for stadium upgrades for a super bowl that will be in town once every 5-10 years.

Besides, we live in a redistribution govt anyways. Just look at any tax money as a social program. lol

Really? I suppose the ppl working at the stadium are slaves that Ross owns, or did he grow them in his back yard next to his deck? Like most ppl who have as much money as he has, his endeavors provide jobs. If you upset ppl like Ross they will simply move, along with those jobs. It's the same stuff happening in this country right now. If you over burden the rich they will go some where else or hold onto their money until things get better for them. FYI the rich never pay taxes and they never will. They will always pass on that cost to the public. No amount of social engineering will ever change that, ever!

The first thing they have to do is put those damn seats closer to the field...
