Talk is just that, talk. Time to back up your big works Jeffy. You need to deliver this year or Ross will deliver a pink slip to you
Talking is what you do during an interview. What do you expect him to say?

I don't like that he and Philbin were comfortable going into the season with Hartline and Bess as their option. Not certain I believe that either.
As comfortable as you can be when you have to get rid of a headcase like Marshall. Obviously, bringing in Marshall wasn't Irelands decision.

Inexcusable that he thought Marshall's replacement was on the squad already. Every Fin fan knew better. Hey Ross, save you money and hire us, if this is really true. I think he's just posturing and bigupping his receivers.
He never said Marshalls replacement was on last years squad. He implied the opposite by saying it took some time to get in the position they are in this year with so much cap space and draft picks.

Was this with Joe Rose? Rose rips Egnew practically every day, and bemoans that TY Hilton wasn't selected there.

Don't believe everything Ireland says. He is sometimes being politically correct. He complimented Gibril Wilson after a horrendous season during his annual Senior Bowl interview stage, and then cut him weeks later. I doubt the Dolphins are relying on Egnew for anything. I heard somewhere that management went apeship about the player who called him a p_ _ _y. Neverthless, that statement says alot. The kid seems to lack the right build, physical tougness, mental acuity, and mental toughness to get it done. We all hope we are wrong on that, but let's be real.
Wait, do you actually believe what any NFL GM says?

    Oh boy!

We finish 7-9 again in 2013 and Ireland won't be the only one thrown out the door. Philbin and his entire staff will be gone.
Only the Dolphins would have a Chicago Bears Ballboy as their GM

I'm starting to think that Philbin would be gone and Ireland would be safe. He's invincible for some reason, like a less competent version of AJ Smith.

How is it obvious that bringing in Marshall was not Ireland's decision. i dont think trading Marshall was Ireland's decisions. That move screamed that Mr Ross wanted him gone yesterday.
as for thinking either player could equal Marshall's production he needs to be drug tested

Smoke and mirrors. WR is number 1 priority so you say you are happy with bess/hartline.

TE played 2 downs the whole year so you say Egnew will play like pitta next year. All smoke. I know this draft will add a WR, a TE (unless we get TE thru FA), a CB, a DE, a Rb (Bush is gone), an OT, a S etc.

Philbin had not even seen Hartline in training camp, he was injured.
