If we offer our own FAs those deals then none will sign!!! Why would anyone take a paycut to resign here??? It's not like they're 35 and looking for one last year of paychecks. Starks will not play for anything less than the 6 million Solia has been playing for and he deserves it. Bush is worth about 5 million a year. He may not have rushed for 1000 yards this year but we all know why. If Sherman gives him enough carries and opportunities in the passing game, he's a Pro Bowler for sure. Fasano would need to be checked for a concussion if he signed for 1 million a year!!! I also don't think we can gamble on Dion Jordan at #12. I'm not saying he's not going to be good, he's just too raw right now. Not sure if Dobson will last till the 4th and Arthur Brown is a little too light to go in the 2nd, but I would like it if we selected them both. I'm fine with the FA signings cause they're upgrades to our current roster. The overall plan is not bad at all but I don't think the money will add up with any of the FA signings.

I didn't think I'd post my offseason plan, but here it goes anyways...

    Re-Sign R.Bush (2 years, 7 mil. - 3.5 mil/year)
    Re-Sign R.Starks (4 years, 20 mil. - 5 mil./year)
    Re-Sign A.Fasano (1 year, 1 mil. - 1 mil/year)
    Re-sign C.Clemons (2 years, 4 mil. - 2 mil./year)

Let J.Long walk (he will be asking for elite tackle money when he's not an elite tackle anymore)
Let S.Smith walk (let him drop interceptions somewhere else)
Let Hartline walk (I'm on the fence about signing him, but in the end, I think he'll demand too much money than his one TD per season is worth)
Let Matt Moore walk (I appreciate everything he did here, but hopefully he'll get a starting chance somewhere else)

    - Sign WR G. Jennings (3 years, 18 mil. - 6 mil/yr.)
    - Sign TE D.Keller (3 years, 9 mil. - 3 mil/yr.
    - Sign RT S.Vollmer (4 years, 28 mil. - 7 mil./yr.)
    - Sign Brent Grimes (2 years, 8 mil. - 4 mil./year)
    - Sign QB Jason Campbell (1 year, 2 mil. - 2 mil./yr.)

Cut D.Carpenter and Sign Phil Dawson

    Draft
    Rd 1 - Dion Jordan, DE/OLB Oregon

    CB - L.McFadden, T.Mathieau, D.Patterson
    FS - C.Clemons, J.Wilson

    Special Teams
    K - P.Dawson
    P - Fields
    LS - Denney

    Thoughts? Flame away...

Revised to make it more realistic...
Fasano one year for one million ?

The salaries you have most signing for are way to low

Long is not going anywhere. He will be franchised first and then maybe traded if we cant agree for a long contract. When Long is healthy he is a francise LT. LTs are too hard to find. Next year we will draft one if not this year.

No way in hell we are going to pay Jake Long 15 million this year just for a chance of redemption. If he sucks, it sets us back even more years because that is 15 million we can use on two or three players who actually impact the game. No offense to Long, but the last two years he has been just good, not worth a 15 million franchise tag. You know we can sign both Jennings and Mike Wallace with that 15 million dollars alone...we won't do that...but just put in your mind how much money that is to spend on Jake Long, who is playing a position that usually declines with age, and has had two pretty big injuries.

Long is a good, but not great player at this stage. I hate to agree with Mando, but Big Jake's career arc really looks to be following Tony Boselli, who was out of football after 7 years due to injuries, etc.
