Free agent Brian Hartline is expected to seek a contract paying him $5-6 million annually this offseason.

Jordy Nelson, the receiver to whom Hartline was optimistically compared entering the 2012 season, only makes $3.5 million annually. The Dolphins want to re-sign Hartline for 2013, but it doesn't sound like they'll get a hometown discount. Hartline, 26, is coming off career highs in catches (74) and yards (1,083).

He would be such an ideal #2 in this offense, and you gotta love the relationship he and Tannehill have groomed already. I'd hate to see him walk.

There's too much chemistry to let him go. It would be a mistake to lose a 1000 yard WR.

However, I'm not going to overspend on a WR with only one TD either.

He's comparable to Jordie Nelson but Nelson is a far better player and makes less than that 5-6 million. 5 million a year seems reasonable though, but I want Hartline to be put on the slot than on the outside. Hope Matthews steps up this offseason with the addition of Jennings.

Jordy is better because he has an elite franchise QB throwing him the ball
Only the Dolphins would have a Chicago Bears Ballboy as their GM

And that's one of the reasons why Green Bay is successful. They don't overpay their players. I hope he we get Hartline back, but only for the right price, and that price is below what Jordie Nelson makes.

I would not pay him more than $3mil. He's not as good as Nelson and he's not really a playmaker in the sense of touchdowns. $3mil take it or leave it. Peace bruh.
