I think Hartline would be a fantastic slot receiver and if I were to sign him it would be as primarily a slot but I would probably only do it if we could trade Bess for at least a fourth.
You're out your damn mind even implying trading that man for a 4th. That is a Sanchez-caliber pick there. Bess is one of the best slot specialists in the league.

When I first brought it up in my mock I suggested we could get a second for Bess and it seemed most thought I was out of my mind thinking we could get that much for him. If we could get more than a 4th, great! I just think Hartline can do everything Bess can do out of the slot and Hartline is versatile enough to play outside and stretch the field more.

I don't think Hartline is as good of a route runner as Bess.

Bess wouldn't get more than a 4th... a 3rd if you can find a GM as incompetent as Matt Millen

I respectfully disagree bro. he is very good in the slot, his only down fall is the last couple of years he has finished the year on IR.

It's like comparing Chad Henne to Drew Brees....I'm not saying Hartline isn't a good receiver, just saying he would get his ass kicked working out the slot compared to Bess.

I think Bess is good for a slot receiver, but it's a lot easier to find a slot receiver than you may think. I'm sure you can find a "solid #3" guy on a lot of teams. I just don't see any team giving up a 3rd or better draft pick for a guy "who is solid".

Question for you bro. If Hartline and Bess let's say both go to New England to play the slot position who do you think takes that job hands down?

When you look in the NFL dictionary under slot receiver there's a picture of Bess.I really think that Hartline's agent is shooting high with the 5-6 mill, Miami is thinking prolly like 3 - 3.5 per. They will meet in the middle which will be closer to 4 IMO.

I bet if Hartline had to play slot he could but he couldnt snare those quick passes like Bess does.We really need to keep both of them. On draft day there are more Juniors sparking interest coming out of college than the seniors which equals 2nd 3rd round which really works in our favor, just dont see taking a receiver in the first round.
