“I’m still a Dolphin at heart,” Marino said. “I’m excited about South Florida getting a team back that they’re going to be very proud of and a team that, in my mind, is going to have a chance to make the playoffs.”

If we spend big bucks on a WR, I'm not sure I would throw another 6 million on a Hartline resign . . . although I'd be cool with resigning Hartline and focusing the draft on WR and bypassing the 9 and 10 million dollar guys.

I was hoping we could get him for 4 years / 18 million . . . 4 years / 20 million at most. 6 a year is too steep.

I mean Laurent Robinson got 6.5 million after his breakout year . . . but he had 11 TD's on a team where he was the 4th option in the passing game. Hard to justify giving Hartline close to the same with him having 3 TD's in his last 3 seasons, with only one last year as the #1 option.
no I don't, but then again Brady and that system has made good recievers look all world time and time again, that's something we can't help. What we can help though is not over paying for a guy, if NE wants to, then so be it.

Let him walk, draft Swope and BAM! you have a guy who can do the same exact thing at Hartline except cheaper and younger.

Your right, he has a higher ceiling and better YAC ability. Swope will start right away given his familiarity with both Tannehill and the system. He also had his best year with Tannehill.

Yes yes but you still havent explained why you are wanting to replace Brain Hartline with a guy who is primarily a slot reviever much more similar to Bess than Hartline.

I am Swopes biggest fan on this forum but under no circumstances should he ever be considered a direct replacement for Hartline. Draft a guy to replace him sure, but not Swope, not for that role.
