Thats what happens when you elect a president because you think he's "cool". This guy is literally too stupid to understand how numbers and business works.

I will wait for the liberals that I debated with on this plan, can't remember who the heck they were,( all sound the same) to come in here and make sense of this.

Who was the guy that says he owns this big business, and was talking about how great this plan will be?

Per family? So $10,000 per person, considering kids will be covered on the parent's plans? Averaging what, $800 per month? That's pretty steep. But no one is required to get Obama health plans. They can get their health insurance from any company. So I don't understand the outrage here...

If I could take your pain and frame it, and hang it on my wall,
maybe you would never have to hurt again...

Come on Locke, it's called THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT, i have been for healthcare reform for a LONG time mostly because costs are out of control.

They ram this thing through, it comes with quite a few new taxes that I have found out about so far, but i was always hoping that the governments plan would somehow be cheaper.

As far as I know, base family plans now, in NY are 12-14k a year right now, and they announce this? Are you freaking kidding me?

Our Fed Ex guy that i have known for a while does not get insurance from his job and has complained to us about how expensive plans were to buy on his own. I think he makes ~15-16 bucks an hour, his wife makes less than that, so lets say his family income is around 50-60k, but that is before taxes.

How in the hell does the affordable care act help a guy like him, and the millions like him?

Is this some type of joke?

Just out of curiosity, based on what? When has the government ever done anything more efficiently than the private sector.

In that respect, yes. It sucks that it isn't cheaper. But you've got to consider that it's mostly forcing companies to stop denying people coverage. I still don't like this bill and wish they'd have done more, but it's still a first step...

I would have to agree with you, in basically every aspect the government rips us off. In my area we have parks employees that make 60k plus a year have cars and are nothing more than glorified lawn mowers. The 60k of course does not include the pension this lawn mower will retire with.

Again, I was hopeful. After taking all of this in, and I hope i'm missing something, what we got after all of this was the removal of prior illness, which is good, and that coinciding with many more taxes, fines for not having insurance, but no real affordable option which was the goal in the first place wasn't it.

So now the guy that can't afford insurance still can't, but will be fined for being unable to afford it?

Again, help me, am I missing something, maybe I just don't understand, please explain.

If I do though in fact, understand, this whole sham of a reform will have been a giant waste of time and tons of taxpayer money. It will also bring me over to the side of the republicans (unbelievable) who basically just were against it with no other plan to push, unbelievable...

I will also make a prediction, again unless I am missing something. The usually equally inept republican party will ride the absolute failure of this legislation, and others to big time victories in 14 and 16.

Hasn't this been talked about at length before though?

Aren't there many ways companies are ALREADY getting around this, like by making employees part time, or just paying the fine that is much cheaper than buying insurance?
