Anyway I love the speculation and looking forward to seeing what the changes are (even though I'm an old timer and would prefer something more old school). I like the classic look and not a bunch of colors and markings all over the uni. No matter, I'll remain a Dolphin whatever the change.

I have nothing against change. NFL teams change every year, by definition.
It's change for the worse that bothers me. This era flaunts poor taste in design, IMO. Combine that with Nike influence and Mike Dee part of the decision making, and you've got to expect a switch for the worse. It's basic handicapping.
That initial leak looks so similar to the stadium logo, and contemporary design taste in general, that I can't believe it was an utter falsehood.
I don't know why people hate on the stadium logo. I would prefer it to the leaked toothpaste swirl design we saw.
I mean, the UM logo is a great, powerful design. Why? Because of its simplicity and symmetry. It has a timeless appeal. The stadium logo utilizes a similar methodology of stripping the dolphin to its bare essence while implying strength and speed.
In all honesty, I would prefer an alphabet logomark like UM, Green Bay, Chicago, etc because I just feel those hold up much better. Trying to make a graphical logo design for a dolphin without making it look like a sea world logo is quite challenging, especially when it is to be used for a football team.
In the end, aesthetics does come down to personal preference. But quality of design can be discerned from a scientific and theoretical perspective. The current logo would be a great cartoon character, but fails as a logo design.

Hasn't mike dee himself mentioned the April release? Personally, I think it's a way to get fans excited about the offseason. Why wait until the draft to show off a logo? Make a buzz now while many could give a **** about football.
Even though I prefer simpler, less detailed logos, I actually think the new Jags logo is pretty slick. Looks a bit more realistic and natural than the old version.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the leaked version is close to the final version and the reason they want to wait til draft day is because they want to drown out the negative feedback with the excitement of the draft.
