Bush needs to come back....Miller, Thomas not proven

Right when we are trying to create more plays and sign more playmakers this offseason we dont need to let our best player and locker room leader just walk

anddd what do we really know about Miller in a starting role sign reggie for 2 more years and lets ride this thing out

I think Miller will be fine. Pretty sure letting Reggie walk became the plan the second Miller was drafted. We didn't need a RB at the time. Personally, I can't wait to see this guy in a starting role. He fits our offense better than Reggie does the way he slams through creases in the line opposed to Reggie, who tends to dance. Plus Miller is just as fast, if not faster and every bit as elusive with another 15-20 pounds of bulk.

We can't pay everyone, at some point you have to let the younger cheaper guys fill important roles.

Reggie Bush is a playmaker, but can also be a momentum killer at times. How many times after getting the first do we give it to Reggie only to wind up at 2nd & 14? We will be fine with or without him.

I don't give a rats ass about "proven."

Hard to be proven when you're a young player in the NFL. You know how players prove themselves? By performing on the field. So after the 2013 season, come back to me and tell me that Lamar Miller shouldn't be put out there because he's "unproven."

If Bush wants to stay, he will take a cut in pay and be the situational back he was designed to be in the first place.

Reggie wasn't a proven starter either before he signed with the Dolphins. He was a decoy/specialist. Signing these guys (Brian Hartline, Sean Smith, Reggie Bush) right now doesn't make sense in terms of financial value. They have all the bargaining power at this point. I doubt they will get as much as their asking price is in the open market and if they can, then let them walk because they aren’t worth the salaries they have reportedly been looking for. Though we have plenty of money, it needs to be carefully spent on the entire team. I know Reggie Bush is a weapon on offense and a leader in the locker room, but we have more pressing needs throughout. Either way, i think the Dolphins will let Reggie test free agency and resign him after the market dictates his value. If someone wants to give him DeAngelo Williams money (which I doubt), then on to the next one.

I'm not worried on the backfield, because Lamar Miller deserves a chance to start and prove his worth as RB before placing any kind of tags on him.
Also I'm not sold on Daniel Thomas, but there will be several options to replace him in free agency and draft. I expect to see serious challengers for him.

But Reggie Bush should come back. Reggie was more than a running back, he was used as like a Swiss army knife, the most functional multi-tool at the attack.
At week 16 we saw what to expect from a flexible player like him under Sherman's offense, a guy who could catch the football coming from the backfield, making Dolphins' offense almost unpredictable. Think about him as a slash player: RB/WR.

I'm not saying Reggie must stay for next 5 seasons, but Miller will need time to adjust for all those functions, so Reggie must return at least for a season in order to ease the transition and give both Tannehill & Miller a maturation process. Such thing could lead to overpay for Bush in 2013, a thing that could be a great investment.

    Just saying.
