He is not worth anything close to what he is starting at. I'd much rather have a guy with half his yardage and 6 TDs a season. His 6 are in 4 years.

I don't know why people get upset at these guys for statements like this, I mean, what do you want him to say, something like: "I think some team will offer me $6m but we all know I'm really only worth about $3m, so sign me up MIAMI". Its not a demand, its a prediction, its not like he's going to sit out for the season if he doesn't get the $6.5m, he'll play for the best offer. I think $6.5m is at the high end of what he may get offered but its not completely unbelievable.

If you want to be mad at somebody be mad at our gm for not locking Hartline up for $3-4 million at this time last year.

I don't see anybody getting upset at Hartline. If I was in the same position and knew I could get similar money somewhere else I'm going to use that as leverage. I'm just not willing to give Hartline that kind of money when there are just as good receivers in the mid rounds of the draft and better players in free agency.

If someone pays Hartline that kind of money, good for him, he will certainly be respected here in Miami. But his numbers don't translate to Laurent Robinson money.

The scuttlebutt is NE might be cutting Brandon Lloyd.. if so IMO he'd be a scoring upgrade

I say let him walk for that. Let him test the market, find no one's willing to pay him even nearly that much and sign him back for about 4-4.5 a season.

The other side to that is our guys are no Reggie Wayne, Donnie Avery, TY Hilton, Golden Tate, Sid Rice, Garcon, Moss, Morgan - also without the mostly tight end playmaking decoys to divert defensive attention away. KNowing that Hartline and Bess draw the best defenders attention yet were thousand or near thousand yard receivers can only make you appreciate what we have in Ryan Tannehill even more!

I hope Hartline gets paid generously, just not here. Good guy whose earned it. Personally I think Reggie Bush and Brian Hartline alongside Megatron would be a good look for Detroit. They also help turn around the criminal culture the Lions have created. And they goto the NFC...everybody wins
