It's only a bad idea if you don't sense that Ryan Tannehill is able to protect himself while on the move. I don't trust him there as much as I'd trust a Russell Wilson, but I trust him more than Robert Griffin.

You know I think it could work if used sparingly because it scares me to think about the chances of losing him to an injury. In my mind I see him as I saw Alex Smith run it some last year before he got hurt. Tannehill wouldn't be like Griffin but could be efficient at it.

Its nice to have a QB that can scramble for yards or even take a designed run now and then to catch the defense off guard. Having QB runs be anything but a very small part of your offense is not going to help your team or the QB in the long run though.

We ran it SOME last year. It's a good thing to have in your back pocket for special situations.

I wouldn't worry about us running it too often.

I am all for it with these stipulations.
1. It is used to pass out of.
2. It is used to help with the running backs and the inside run game.
3. It gives teams something to have to game plan for.
4. Tannehill keeps the ball very rarely. Inside the 10 and 3rd and shorts.
If used right it can be an effective tool for our offense. We just need to make sure it is in place not to make Tannehill a runner but to give us options to pass from and open up lanes for our RBs. The biggest thing I see for us is teams will have to respect the fact he will keep the ball, opening up passing lanes and running lanes.

well there's the stats talk again...i can promise you andrew luck didn't take anywhere near the same level of contact shots that robert griffen took in 2012...we're talking about kill shots with griffen in all kinds of vulnerable/exposed positions...

of course griffen brings a lot of that contact on himself...kinda what he brings to the table as a player...they have an o in washington that maximizes rg3's skill set...but it also is a qb killer at the pro level...

no qb should be run to contact on the regular in the pros...it's only a matter of time before it catches up with you...

There was several moments this season where Tannehill had big lanes to run but didnt. He was a WR so he does have the athletism to do it. But much increased chance of injuries. I don't know how I fully feel about us hoping on this new running QB bandwagon.

It really didn't bother me as much as it would say this upcoming year.. It was kind of the reverse order of a young QB. Normally skiddish and taking off early, our young QB move around, analyzed the field, and threw late in the play. Veteran things but not enough talent to make it work often enough. Later in the year he started taking advantage of his ability and took of for huge running gains. He's got pretty good speed. I'd rather see him do more of that then actually designed to run.
