Donate to this site.
It's just recently dawned on me that only a certain few people really really appreciate this site. Theres an open thread in the main forum asking for fellow finheaven members to donate to help offset costs of running the site. I personally have donated twice. Not much, but I have made it a point to donate to a site I love, and a site that frankly, I don't think I could get used to living without.
Obviously I could physically live without it. Point is, I spend a good 2 hours or so on here a day, and more time on it from my phone at work if I am slow. The target goal for the YEAR is $2000. We are currently $1300 behind that target goal. Did you know that over 4,000 people have viewed the finheaven site announcement thread? Did you know that if every viewer of said thread, donated $1, we would already have accumulated TWICE THE GOAL FOR THE YEAR???
I have a touch over 5,000 posts... all of which, or roughly 4,900 of which I did without paying a dime to the site. I really felt like an ass when I looked at it this way. I see guys with 10,000, 20,000 posts, who havent' donated to the site. The fact of the matter is the site isnt free. there are a handful of people who have been keeping it afloat through personal money, from what I understand.
IS this site worth a penny per post to you? How about half a penny per post? How about a dollar of loose change out of your cars backseat? I gave very little in the two donations I have previously given, and it was really quite simple. I went without a pizza that friday night and I lived.
IS this site worth more to you than a six pack of bud light, a puck of copenhagen, or a pack of marlboros?? If you went without a pack of smokes just one time, would you still live? If the site was shutdown tomorrow, would you wish you threw in $1, $5, $10???
I would.. I am broke as a joke fellas... I've found a way to donate twice. Once I went without that friday night pizza. Once I took in a mason quart jar of spare change.
It's not asking much, whether you have 5 posts, 500 posts, or 50,000 posts... ask yourself if those posts and the dialogue and info you get from finheaven is worth a pack of smokes, or one less mt. dew a day... I know it is for me. I hope it is for you.
Click on the orange DONATE button at the top of the page, and make sure this site is put in the best position possible to continue to provide you what it provides you today, tomorrow and next year.
