This kid hasn't hit his ceiling. He is still improving. This last year was his best year in solo tackles, passes deflected, interceptions, and fumbles. This kid has turned the page and we need to further evaluate his talent. We need to resign him or use the franchise tag on him because he could become a very solid #1.

Too bad we traded the wrong corner... Smith isn't going to get that much better then he is right now. His ceiling is not that high even with his size because of his speed. He's just too slow to keep up with fast receivers.

It's just like Hartline - just because he played the role of the #1 CB or #1 WR doesn't mean he warrants that kind of salary. Could Sean Smith improve? Sure. But I'm not going to pay him $7M+/yr to find out.

Actually the stats you just showed kinda explain that Sean Smith is a hit or miss corner. He has equally as many pass deflections this year as his rookie season, the same number of INTS as last year (2....really bad). His tackles went down from last year.....Those stats show nothing absolutely NOOOO trend

im just going off memory.. but didnt he also give up the most combined first downs and touchdowns in the league?

so basically the trend here is... all his numbers went up because every team we played saw they could throw on him...and did throw on him.....

No way in hell this thread should be tagged PRO BOWL, thats laughable if you think he's even gonna sniff a pro bowl. He was barely the best corner on the team and anyone here can even argue that.
