not while he was here, guy had at least 4-5 dropped TDs that cost the teams wins
Just like the rest of that entire team, he had a poor first half and finally played like himself in the final 8 games. He dropped one TD against Cleveland that would have won us the game and he dropped another against Houston that would have made the game much closer, it's not like he dropped balls up and down the field and killed us.
The 2011 Dolphins may have boasted the worst coaching staff in football history, the pass defense was deplorable, the running game didn't exist, and the offensive supporting cast around Marshall was slow and didn't scare anyone. Matt Moore's first few games of getting acclimated really hurt us as well, but my point is that Marshall was the least of that team's issues and he was unceremoniously dumped irresponsibly.

I'm taking Marshall over Wallace 7 days a week. Marshall is a monster go-to guy on 3rd down because he can win on every route. Mike Wallace is not that guy, has never been a great chain mover. I guess it depends on what you want from a #1 WR, and I personally like a guy who can be a reliable (and physical) target when you need it.

And I've posted my doubts about Wallace here before, namely that this season was by far his most disappointing, and it was his only year in a west-coast system. I do think he has elite tools, but I'm not too comfortable paying him big money coming off the down year he had in a similar offense.

To address one thing you said, I think we would have made the playoffs with Marshall last year. He would have opened up so much for Hartline and Bush and he would have made Tannehill's life much easier, specifically in the red zone where we sucked. I am still completely at a loss for why he was dumped like that, I've yet to hear a satisfactory explanation.... And no, "he's not a Joe Philbin guy" is not a good enough explanation
If Brandon Marshall is not a Joe Philbin guy but Brian Hartline is, then Joe Philbin hates touchdowns and sucks at coach.
Do you know what there redzone scoring percentage was? I feel like it wasnt so much Tannehill being bad in the Redzone as it was they just relied on running the ball because that was our strength.

We were actually 11th in the league at red zone TD %... Don't know how that's possible. Not bad, upper third of the league is good but we would have been a lot better with a receiving scoring threat.

I really think Brandon Marshall would of hindered Ryan Tannehill. When Tannheill struggled in his 1st 3 starters Marshall would of cried and bitched like he always does. He may of publicly called for Matt moore too.

You guys discount how much a malcontent this guy can be....He is a phoenminal player...when he is getting the ball, when he is a baby and thats a lot for a rookie QB, especially one so green as Ryan, to handle.

Youre right horrible argument, considering Brandon Marshall only caught 20 balls that year compared to Wallace's 39.

oh yeah and his question has the word "was" in it. so i think the past is relevant.

its not an argument if he is a top receiver... im not arguing that fact. Wallace #'s say hes up there with Brandon Marshall... if Td's dont matter I guess Brandon Marshall is head and shoulders better.
How many times has Brandon Marshall laced his shoes in a play off game, does that number matter?
Smh, Mike Wallace played with Ben Roethlesberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brandon Marshall played with scrub Kyle Orton and made him look good, he also played with Chad Henne and put up big numbers. How do you expect him to make the playoffs with 2 scrub teams? BMarsh is a receiver not a QB he can't singlehandedly take a team to the playoffs. If you get such a hard on for stats compare the numbers since Wallace has been in the league which is 2009 through 2013. Brandon Marshall obliterates him in these statistics. Look I'm sure a lot of you are mad at Brandon well for one leaving which wasnt his fault he was traded, and secondly he didnt produce enough TDs with us, which had more to do with Chad Henne but still facts are facts Brandon is way better than Mike Wallace. Now don't get me wrong I like Mike Wallace and I want him to play for the Miami Dolphins but I do not lie to myself about the caliber player he is.

Brandon Marshall is very good. But, for him, he has to be the No. 1 target. Mike Wallace thrived in an offense with Hines Ward, Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, Heath Miller. ... I feel that with our complimentary options (Bess and Hartline (if we can keep him)) that Mike Wallace can be even better than Marshall ever was for us.

Mike Wallace doesn't need 10-15 targets a game like Marshall did. He can break a game open on any given play.

Greg Jennings reminds me of OJ McDuffie, who I love and was great during his time in Miami. But, with all due respect to him ust not a gamebreaker like Wallace could be.

Ahem, Kyle Orton also made Brandon Lloyd relevant again...

I love it! Agree that we didn't get a good explanation - and probably never will. I don't care that we traded him so much as what we got for him - 2 no 3's for a guy that was neck and neck with Megatron in the NFC in catches and TDs this year? We got a 2nd and 7th for Wes Welker. And here's something to think about - how many SBs have NE won throwing the 100 four yard passes to that guy per game? C'mon Jeff - you can do better than that (the two no 3's)

Whats done is done, lets go get Mikey Wallace!
