Some analysis of Wallace's sub-par last 24 games, going back to the latter half of 2011 when his production started falling off:

I do still think B Marsh is awesome and wish he never left, but trying to let it go.
I wish him the best and cheer for him when he does well, then bang my head on the table, but I gotta move on.
Wallace would be a great pickup! Not as good as B Marsh, but definitely a very good player!

I'm taking Marshall over Wallace 7 days a week. Marshall is a monster go-to guy on 3rd down because he can win on every route. Mike Wallace is not that guy, has never been a great chain mover. I guess it depends on what you want from a #1 WR, and I personally like a guy who can be a reliable (and physical) target when you need it.

And I've posted my doubts about Wallace here before, namely that this season was by far his most disappointing, and it was his only year in a west-coast system. I do think he has elite tools, but I'm not too comfortable paying him big money coming off the down year he had in a similar offense.
He has definitely fallen off a little bit the past year, but to be honest, what didn't fall off for the Steelers this past season? And I'd say that drop off started in the latter half of 2011... They lost their last 3 of 4 in 2011 regular season and we all know how that play off went for them. 2012 was a total blunder for them...

They are banged up and old at multiple positions that affect the play of the WRs. Not giving Wallace a total pass but it should be taken into account.

That being said I believe Marshall is still a better talent. Wallace would fit well here though and I believe we get him.

No he's not better than Marshall, however, so far Tannehill > Henne, so that's all that should really matter.

Just like the rest of that entire team, he had a poor first half and finally played like himself in the final 8 games. He dropped one TD against Cleveland that would have won us the game and he dropped another against Houston that would have made the game much closer, it's not like he dropped balls up and down the field and killed us.
The 2011 Dolphins may have boasted the worst coaching staff in football history, the pass defense was deplorable, the running game didn't exist, and the offensive supporting cast around Marshall was slow and didn't scare anyone. Matt Moore's first few games of getting acclimated really hurt us as well, but my point is that Marshall was the least of that team's issues and he was unceremoniously dumped irresponsibly.
Running game didn't exist? Reggie Bust didn't scare anyone? coaching staff the worst in history? Idk bro, seems like you really didn't watch 2011

No, Bush doesn't (and didn't) scare anybody, and offensively I really think you would have a hard time finding a worse combination than Tony Sparano and Brian Daboll. We lost to every decent team we played, and we even lost to a couple of atrocious teams as well.
I did watch that season, every game. I unfortunately had to watch us win 6 miserably meaningless games against teams that somehow found a way to lose to a Tony Sparano coached team, causing us to miss out on 2 of the best QBs of this generation. We can't even suck enough to get better when it matters, team is cursed.

Marshall is an all around better WR than Wallace. Wallace is more of a speed WR that runs straightline routes while marshall can run all the underneath routes

I think he just lost desire with us to be honest, with Ryan though I think he would've been beast.
Yea, that's the kind of player I want, a player that will give up and lose desire when things go bad....awesome.

To address one thing you said, I think we would have made the playoffs with Marshall last year. He would have opened up so much for Hartline and Bush and he would have made Tannehill's life much easier, specifically in the red zone where we sucked. I am still completely at a loss for why he was dumped like that, I've yet to hear a satisfactory explanation.... And no, "he's not a Joe Philbin guy" is not a good enough explanation
If Brandon Marshall is not a Joe Philbin guy but Brian Hartline is, then Joe Philbin hates touchdowns and sucks at coach.
If you go with what he did the year before, Philbin must have also hated elite receivers that dropped TD passes consistently, as well as having a very dangerous personality for a team that needed less not more drama. Marshall is loaded with talent, but Miami was going to end up having to let him go, while getting nothing of him, at least Miami got 2-3rd round picks.

Was Marshall worth just two 3rd round picks? Talent wise, not even close, but production wise, and drama wise.....take the 2 picks and run very very fast.
